 Cut-A-Thon Results

February 1st, 2007 by Holly A. Messina

The Cut-A-Thon was a huge success. The stylists performed 50 haircuts in just 3 hours. The final tally for this event brought us over $2,100.00. The JBB Project continues to receive checks by mail and website donations.

At 12:00 sharp, our first customer arrived. There was a steady flow of haircuts until after 3:00. Nice job, ladies! You were outstanding!

Our guests were greeted by DECA students, who made sure the customers signed in and were directed to the back to view The JBB Project display. There, they would also find the JBB jewelry table, coffee, fruit and sweets. A preview of “Joey’s Blood Buddies” was passed around and children enjoyed the coloring page of the buddies. It was exciting and heartwarming to watch Jessica Ryan cut off a 10-inch ponytail to donate to Locks of Love, an organization that makes “real hair” wigs for cancer patients. Also, a young man from Littleton had his gorgeous hair cut into a Mohawk. Misty Cheney, our Blood Buddy artist, came in for a visit with her little friend Ryan.

Thank you to all who attended this event and contributed to opening the door for The JBB Project.

Special thank you for your donations:
