After months of paperwork, applications and filing fees, my hopes to help children with cancer, is about to come true. The JBB Project, Inc. is now a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt, publicity supported organization.
The JBB Project will hold its first fund raiser on January 27, 2007 at Unique Hair Salon, 434 Littleton Road, Westford, MA. Alessandra Cruz, Hairdresser/Owner asked if there was anything she could do to help this project. Her heart goes out to people in need and she is touched by children with cancer. She came up with the idea of a “Cut-A-Thon” at her Salon. Her stylists will donate their time and ask for a donation of $20.00 for each hair cut, for The JBB Project.
I have been working in Partnership with the Westford Academy’s DECA Program. The students have prepared flyers, news briefs, school announcements, and more, for the upcoming “Cut-A-Thon.” The students will continue with their fund raising efforts for this organization for the next couple of months and then they will be quite busy preparing their paper and presentation for the DECA competition. I’ll keep you posted. That will not be the last you’ll hear of them. They plan to stay on-board as long as they are needed.
I hope to see you on the 27th between 12:00 and 3:00pm. If you are not due for a hair cut, come join us to learn more about The JBB Project. Our JBB earrings and cell phone jewels will be available for purchase, and donations are welcome.
Fruit will be provided by Edible Arrangements.
